Spring Cloches

When I first started following blogs about 1 1/2 years ago, one of the most popular items I saw people using for home decor was cloches (pronounced  "klosh" long "o"...I can not make my computer add the long "o" sign).

The French developed the cloche, or bell jar, formed of a solid piece of glass shaped like a dome. The purpose was to protect an early garden plant from frost.

I really think they are beautiful and they come in many sizes...some are really huge.  You can decorate with them by putting all kinds of things under the glass.

I have some for sell at Happy's...let me show you...

This one I made...I found the glass dome and added a drawer pull to the top!
This one I made by using a part of a light fixture and adding a drawer pull...the bottom is a plate glued to a large wooden candle holder...a one of a kind wouldn't you say?

I found the glass dome at a thrift shop and added the plate...it would be pretty with several lemons or vegetables inside.

Again, I found the dome and added a pretty plate with a pinecone ball inside!

You can put things inside to go with the seasons...it is one of those things that can be used for many purposes.  Tell me what you think...have you seen these before?

Bluebird, Bluebird through my window!

With spring approaching I have gone crazy with birds.  They are so much fun to watch.  So everywhere I go...I see birds.

Even my grandson Wyatt points to the sky and says "buurd".

Even my little corner of the world at Happy's reflects what I have been thinking.  See for yourself!

And even on the rug in my area...
How cute is that rug?  It would work great in a sun room.
I wish I had one!  How about you?
